Oof, what a year.
aside from external events, the musical content of 2018 was quite solid.
ignore heartmelt, it was created for two specific people and reflects their purposes exclusively.
whoof what a way to start the year off. a fun-filled, action-packed, meme-cuisine album featuring a recently redacted untrustworthy person.
aside from the unfortunate connection, the album itself is worth listening to, and is still an uplifting experience. I wrote like 80% of the music anyway so don't feel guilty listening.
after that came a ripping shred-fest from our favourite edgelord sergal. GUNFIST marks a vast improvement of the sound i go for with his stuff, and is a huge improvement, making cyber future essentially redundant.
heven on earth was a lot of fun to make, exploring the hyperspeed semi-minimal world of subtle synths and ethereal layering that defines hitech psytrance, and adding a little flavour of jungle as i am wont to do.
after this point things start to fall apart in terms of my creative output. college took a huge toll on my free time, especially towards the end of the semester. as a result, black hole heart had to be delayed, and Commerce Valley Sunrise was released in hopes of retaining some fan interest.
despite that, it's a worthwhile album. Funky Asteroid is an especially good track.
